My name is KABOSI ALI. I am 20 years old, male, and originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I have been living in Malawi since 2022 as a refugee. I started my music career in 2023 through a group of young refugees called WANYABI Dancer. Through this group, I have had the opportunity to perform at events such as the Tumaini Festival, World Refugee Day, and many other ceremonies and community events.
I was not born with a disability. My life changed after I was injected with medicine at the hospital. After the injection, both of my legs became paralyzed. It was a very painful and difficult moment in my life because everything changed suddenly. I faced many challenges physically, emotionally, and socially, but I refused to believe that disability could end my future or stop my dreams.
Sometimes people discriminate against me, reject me, or underestimate me because of my condition. Those experiences are painful, but they have also made me stronger. I continue believing in myself, in my talent, and in my future. I know that being physically disabled does not mean a person is unable to succeed.
Music, dancing, and film are the things that give me hope and strength every day. Through music, I express my feelings, my struggles, and my dreams. I want to inspire other young people, especially refugees and persons living with disabilities, to never lose hope in life.
I believe that one day I will make it through my talent, determination, and hard work. My dream is to continue growing in music and use my story to encourage others who are facing challenges in their lives.
